                             Happiness isn't something you experience,

it's something you remember.

~ Oscar Levant

And so far, TMC members have lots of happiness to remember…

Our touring season is in full swing – we’ve already enjoyed our Vermont tour, Watkins Glen tour and tours to various local locations.

I’m thinking about starting a new motto for the club – “If you don’t like the weather, plan a tour and wait for the sun to come out.”  This may sound odd, but in the past month, I’ve attended three or four club events with poor weather forecasts.  Immediately before the start of each of these tours, the weather cooperated and every tour was run top down.

Our June meeting was a great success at Continental Tire in Mississauga.  Thanks again to Continental Tire and Maita Leinss for a great room, a fun presentation and a neat note pad.

Stay tuned for a Trillium Miata Club members only deal on tires from Continental Tire.  We’re still working out the details, since this is the first time Continental has every done this before (another first for TMC members).

We’re also getting great publicity for the club.  In the past month:

-Nika Rolczewski has contacted me for some details which she is going to include in a Toronto Star article discussing various car clubs.  (Nika spoke at our April meeting)

-Maita Leinss from Continental Tire is preparing a press release describing our club meeting at their office (which will include photos of our gorgeous cars in their parking lot).

And Larry Whitney managed to top both of those:  During his annual Summer Solstice Ice Cream Run, Larry arranged to have the announcer on 1050 Chum’s Saturday night radio show dedicate the first hour to our club!!

Gary Svoboda and I are working with Mazda Canada to increase the linkages with their corporate resources – stay tuned for updates as we work out the details.

We return to Frenchman’s Bay Yacht Club for our July meeting.

            July 13/08 – meeting starts at 10am

635 Breezy Drive, Pickering  www.fbyc.ca/index.php

There will also be a lunch location and TGIS (as in Sunday) tour for those available for a full day.

See you then, and in the meantime – GO TOPLESS.
